French grammar
To make French understandable one should be thorough with rules of French grammar.
For students appearing for class X CBSE board exam following are the grammar topics which should be prepared to score well.

LES ARTICLES INDEFINIS
These articles can be translated in English as <<a>> or <<an>>. We use <<Un>> before a masculine singular noun, <<Une>> before a feminine singular noun and<< Des>> before a masculine or a feminine plural noun.
For example- 1. J’ai un stylo. [ stylo means pen in french. It is masculine in gender so in order to write<< a pen>> we will write << un stylo>>]
2. Tu as une cravate. [cravate means neck tie in french. It is feminine in gender so in order to write<< a neck tie>> we will write << une cravate>>]
3. Il a des stylos / des cravates. [ in this case stylos and cravates both are in the plural form so we will write des before it.]
Des Noms ( Nouns)
Un livre , un cahier , un Garcon , un Rideau , un tableau , un cartable , un stylo , un crayon , un homme , un dictionnaire , un feutre , un chocolat , une fille , une homme , une femme , une voiture , une poubelle , une table , des enfants , des eleves , des parents , des jouets , des clous etc.
LES ARTICLES DEFINIS
These articles can be translated in English as <<the>>. There are 4 definite articles in French as follows-
<<Le>> is used before a masculine singular noun beginning with a consonant. Par exemple- le livre, le garcon, le cahier, le cartable etc.
<<La >>is used before a feminine singular noun beginning with a consonant. par exemple- la fille, la maison, la femme, la table etc.
<< Les>>is used before all plural nouns. par exemple- les livres, les cahiers, les filles, les maisons, les femmes, les cartables etc.
<<l’>> is used before a masculine or feminine singular noun beginning with a vowel. par exemple- l’escargot(M), l’histoire(F) etc.
